Our new website is live!

Hi guys

This is my first attempt at writing a blog!  Hope I don’t bore you all too much with my weekly meanderings!

All is well here, frantic as ever with street collections and a whole host of fundraising going on.  The team is working really hard, but hopefully we will be rewarded with a good boost to our coffers to take us through the lean months of January and February next year.

Our programmes are going really well in Nepal – we just finished trialling new maize varieties, which have boosted food production by a whopping 60%, which will make a huge difference to those families suffering from serious malnutrition.  My next blog will be about Nepal and our beneficiaries, and some of their stories.

But the main reason I’m blogging today is to let you know that our new website is now live!  Check it out at www.foundation-nepal.org.  A huge thanks to all who worked so hard on this.  If any of you have time and you wanted to help us, if you could go around it , especially in Internet Explorer, and come back with any bugs or problems you find, it would be really great.

The website contains loads of pictures of the women and children we help, where we work, and details of where your money goes and what it has achieved.  We can now take online donations, you can buy gifts and Christmas cards, and there’s sections for schools, volunteers, and all kinds of different people who want to get involved.  There’s also profiles of the team, our Board, our philosophy, how we are different to other charities, our story and how we came into being, and case studies of different families we work with.  I think it’s very comprehensive.  All comments and suggestions very welcome!

I’m continuing to juggle motherhood and the charity.  Baby Donagh is really funny!

He has just gotten a baby bouncer, which hangs off the door frame with a spring, and there’s a little harness which he sits in with his feet on the floor.  When he kicks, he flies up into the air like a little grasshopper, and he’s chortling away with glee as he whizzes through the air!  If I try to take him out, there’s an immediate howl of protest.  He’s five months old now, and is very smiley, and his little belly laugh is hilarious!

Lots of love

Nicky
