Millennium Development Goals

Foundation Nepal’s work embraces the Millennium Development Goals, which represent a global partnership to respond to the world’s main development challenges.

Heads of Government have committed to working towards specific targets for lasting change in developing countries. Known as the Millennium Development Goals, these targets promote poverty reduction, education, maternal health, and gender equality, and aim to combat child mortality, AIDS and other diseases. The groundwork for the Millennium Development Goals was laid at a series of global United Nations summits in the 1990s, and 2015 was set as the date by which these goals are to be achieved. The Millennium Development Goals form the basis of all Foundation Nepal’s work.
